How to connect the Wi-Fi to your phone?

After signing in to the Pelsee Cam app, you can connect your phone to the dash cam Wi-Fi in two ways.

Option 1: Manual Connection

  1. Power on the dash cam and place your phone nearby.
  2. On your phone, enable Wi-Fi.
  3. Find and select the Wi-Fi network with your dash cam’s name.
  4. Enter the default password 12345678.

It’s normal to see “No Internet Connection.”
  5. Return to the Pelsee Cam app, wait a few seconds, and then tap Access Camera once it appears.

Option 2: In-App Connection

  1. Power on the dash cam and turn on your phone’s Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the Pelsee Cam app, then tap Connect Camera or the “+” icon.
  3. When prompted, confirm to open your Wi-Fi list.
  4. Select your dash cam’s Wi-Fi and enter 12345678.

    “No Internet Connection” is expected.
  5. Return to the app — when the connection syncs, you’ll see Access Camera.
There is a slash on the Wi-Fi signal — why?

A slash on the Wi-Fi icon means Wi-Fi is turned off.

To enable it:

  1. Power on the dash cam and open System Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Wi-Fi Information, then toggle Wi-Fi ON.
The Wi-Fi list shows “Connected” but says “No Internet Connection” — why?

That’s normal.

The dash cam’s Wi-Fi is designed only for connecting your phone to the dash cam,

not for internet access.

Seeing “No Internet Connection” means your dash cam is connected and ready for use in the Pelsee Cam app.

It shows connected on the phone but says “Connection Failed” in the app — why?

If your phone connects to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi but the app shows “Connection Failed,”

please make sure Local Network permission is enabled for the Pelsee Cam app in your phone’s settings.

The app says “Connection Failed” and won’t connect — what should I do?

If you still can’t connect:

  1. Power on the dash cam and make sure your phone is nearby.
  2. Open your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and select your dash cam’s Wi-Fi.
  3. Enter 12345678 as the password.
  4. “No Internet Connection” is expected — it means Wi-Fi is connected.
  5. Return to the Pelsee Cam app, wait a few seconds, then try again.

⚠️ Please also make sure VPN, antivirus, or personal hotspot are turned off, as they may interfere with the dash cam connection.

Can I retrieve old videos?

Unfortunately, once old videos are deleted or the memory card is formatted, they cannot be recovered.

We recommend regularly downloading and backing up important recordings to your phone or computer to prevent overwriting.

Why can’t I open websites or play music when connected to the dash cam?

When an Android phone connects to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi,

it temporarily disables other internet connections (like mobile data).

This is normal and ensures a stable app connection.

The dash cam will continue recording, and you can reconnect to the internet after exiting the app.

Why doesn’t CarPlay work when connected to the dash cam?

Your phone can only maintain one active connection at a time.

When connected to the dash cam via Wi-Fi, CarPlay will disconnect.

The dash cam still records normally — simply disconnect Wi-Fi after viewing or downloading videos.

Why can’t I see anything in the app when I’m at home?

Dash cams can only be accessed when you’re within Wi-Fi range of your vehicle.

Their Wi-Fi signal does not support remote viewing.

To view live or saved videos, you must be near your dash cam so your phone can connect directly.

Why does the dash cam show “Recording Paused”?

The dash cam may pause recording for two reasons:

1️⃣ You are adjusting settings in the app. Recording will resume automatically once you exit and return to the live view.

2️⃣ The SD card is not inserted or cannot be recognized, which will also trigger this alert.

There was a collision but no video could be found — why?

When a collision occurs, the dash cam automatically locks the video and saves it in the Locked Folder.

Please make sure the Collision Sensitivity feature is turned ON in the app and set to your preferred level.

How can I check my recordings?

You can view recordings in three ways:

  • Option 1: On the dash cam — open File Explorer.
  • Option 2: On your phone — connect the dash cam to the Pelsee Cam app, then go to Camera File.
  • Option 3: On a computer — remove the SD card and connect it via a card reader. You can watch videos using Pelsee DV Player, VLC Media Player, or PotPlayer.
Why is there no sound in my recordings?

If there’s no sound, go to Camera Settings > Sound Recording and make sure the option is turned ON.

You can also adjust the recording sensitivity.

Why does the recording indicator turn yellow?

A yellow recording indicator means the camera is recording a locked video.

If this happens too often:

  • Lower the Collision Sensitivity in settings.
  • Avoid saying words like “lock,” which may trigger voice commands.
The screen turns off after one or two minutes — why?

The dash cam automatically enters sleep mode after 1–2 minutes.

To keep the screen on while driving, go to Settings > Auto Screen Off and adjust it.

If the screen doesn’t turn on when you press the power button, please contact support@pelsee.com.

How do I set the rear camera as the default view?

Go to Settings > Set Rearview Default.

Once enabled, the dash cam will display the rear camera by default while driving.

Why is the dash cam stuck on the rear view with reverse lines displayed?

This means the red reverse trigger wire is connected incorrectly.

The wire should be connected to the reverse light wire, which only has power when the car is in reverse gear.

Once corrected, the dash cam will automatically switch to rear view only when reversing.

How do I turn off the button sounds?

Go to Settings > Touch Sound, then toggle it OFF.

The time displayed is incorrect.

If you connect the dash cam to your phone, the time will sync automatically.

If not, go to Settings > Time Zone and set it manually.

Once set, the dash cam will remember the time.

You can find your correct time zone here: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/

The displayed GPS speed is not accurate.

Go to Settings > Speed Adjustment and fine-tune the displayed speed to match your vehicle.

Dash cam not responding to voice commands.

Try the following steps:

1️⃣ Make sure Voice Control is turned ON in settings.

2️⃣ Adjust the voice sensitivity level.

3️⃣ Ensure you are using the correct command phrases.

No slash on the Wi-Fi signal, but the dash cam’s Wi-Fi doesn’t show on my phone.

If the Wi-Fi signal icon appears normal but the dash cam’s Wi-Fi network doesn’t show up:

1️⃣ Perform a factory reset on the dash cam.

2️⃣ Check your phone’s Wi-Fi list again.

If it still doesn’t appear, please contact support@pelsee.com.

The dash cam or app says “The card is abnormal.”

App & WiFi FAQ

(P1 Duo, P2 Trio, P12Pro Max)

How to connect to the camera's WiFi?

1. Power on the dash cam and ensure that your phone is in close proximity to it.
2. Open the WiFi list on your phone and locate the network name, which includes the model name of the dash cam.
3. Select the dash cam's Wi-Fi network and enter the default password "12345678" to establish the connection.
4. Once connected, you can access the dash cam's settings through the corresponding app.

The dash cam App keeps saying "connection failed"

1. Please ensure that no antivirus, VPN software, or hotspot is enabled on your phones, as they may potentially interfere with the connection and overall performance of the dashcam.
2. If the first tip does not resolve the issue, please attempt to connect using another phone. Before doing so, ensure that you forget the dashcam's WiFi network from your current phone.

Why I can not see anything in the App when I'm at home?

Typically, dash cams are designed to be viewed when you are in the vicinity of your vehicle. The camera connects to its dedicated WiFi network, and you can access its live feed and recorded footage within the range of this network. So, if you're not in your car or not within the range of the camera's WiFi signal, you wouldn't be able to access the video feed in real-time.

Why the App does not work when the car is in parking mode?

The purpose of the parking mode is to ensure that activities are recorded with very low power consumption. When your vehicle is hardwired and the parking mode is enabled, only the recording function operates based on your settings. Other features will not be activated in this mode.

I can not open website or listen to music on my phone when it's connected to the dash cam

For Android phones, once connected to the dash camera's WiFi, it cannot support another internet connection, such as WiFi or mobile data or listen to some online music. However, the dash cam will continue recording even when connected to the phone. Therefore, you can only connect to the app when you wish to view or download the videos.

Is it a must to keep the dash cam connected to my phone/App?

The purpose of the app is to facilitate easier management of settings, as well as viewing and downloading videos. It's important to note that once the dash cam is powered on, it will continue recording even when connected to the phone. Therefore, you may connect to the app when you wish to view or download the videos.

Can I find videos I deleted in the App?

Currently, the app does not support the feature of restoring deleted videos.

Can I get the dash cam to connect to the WiFi in my house?

Dash cams typically don't connect directly to home WiFi networks. Instead, they generate their own WiFi signal that is compatible only with the corresponding app.

GPS FAQ

Where should I install the GPS part?

You can install the GPS module in the area above the rearview mirror, near the large plastic housing at the top of the windshield, or on the quarter-light window of the front doors, positioned at the bottom and as close to the front of the car as possible. However, it's essential to note that placing it too close to the dash cam may result in signal interference.
