Why can’t I open websites or play online music when my phone is connected to the Pelsee dash cam?

For Android phones, when your device connects to a Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi, other internet connections (Wi-Fi or mobile data) may not work. This can prevent websites from loading or some online music from playing.

The dash cam will continue recording normally while connected. You only need to connect your phone to the Pelsee Cam App when you want to view or download videos.

Why doesn’t CarPlay work when my phone is connected to the Pelsee dash cam?

Your phone can only be connected to one device at a time. When your phone is connected to a Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi, CarPlay may not function because the dash cam occupies the connection.

The dash cam continues recording normally even while your phone is connected. You only need to connect your phone to the Pelsee Cam App when you want to view or download videos.

Why can’t I see anything in the Pelsee Cam App when I’m at home?

Pelsee HD dash cams with WiFi are designed to be viewed within the vicinity of your vehicle. The dash cam connects to its dedicated Wi-Fi network, allowing you to access live footage and recorded videos only within the Wi-Fi range.

If you are not near your car or outside the camera’s Wi-Fi coverage, you will not be able to view the video feed in real-time through the app.

Why does my Pelsee dash cam show “Recording Paused”?

If your Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi displays “Recording Paused”, it usually means you are adjusting settings in the app. During this time, the dash cam temporarily stops recording to apply changes.

Once you exit the settings and return to the live view screen, the dash cam will automatically resume normal recording.

There was a collision but no video was saved — why?

When a collision occurs, your Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi automatically locks the video and saves it separately in the Lock folder.

However, for this feature to work, you must ensure that:

  1. Collision sensitivity is enabled in the Pelsee Cam App.
  2. The sensitivity is set to an appropriate level before the incident.

If these settings are not enabled or properly adjusted, the dash cam may not save collision footage.

Why does my Pelsee dash cam screen turn off after one or two minutes?

If the screen on your Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi turns off after one or two minutes, you can adjust the Automatic Screen Off Time in the Settings menu according to your preference. You can set it to stay on longer or remain on while driving.

If the screen does not turn back on when pressing the power button, please contact our support team at support@pelsee.com for further assistance.

Why is my Pelsee dash cam not responding to voice commands?

If your Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi does not respond to voice commands, first check the Pelsee Cam App to ensure that Voice Control is enabled.

The dash cam supports the following voice commands:

  • “Turn on audio”
  • “Turn off audio”
  • “Lock the video”
  • “Take photo”

Using any other phrases may result in no response from the dash cam.

The dash cam’s Wi-Fi doesn’t appear on my phone, but there’s no slash on the Wi-Fi signal — what should I do?

If your Pelsee dash cam with WiFi shows no slash on the Wi-Fi icon but the Wi-Fi name does not appear on your phone, try performing a factory reset:

  1. Power on the dash cam.
  2. Press and hold the power button for about 8 seconds.
  3. You will hear two beeps in total (ensure the environment is quiet).
  4. Release the power button after the second beep.
  5. The dash cam will announce that the reset is complete, and the screen will flash once to refresh.

After the reset, check your phone’s Wi-Fi list again to see if the dash cam’s network appears.

Why does the recording indicator on my Pelsee dash cam turn yellow?

On your Pelsee HD dash cam with WiFi, the recording indicator turns yellow when the camera is recording a locked video.

2. If the first tip does not resolve the issue, please attempt to connect using another phone. Before doing so, ensure that you forget the dashcam's WiFi network from your current phone.

Why I can not see anything in the App when I'm at home?

Typically, dash cams are designed to be viewed when you are in the vicinity of your vehicle. The camera connects to its dedicated WiFi network, and you can access its live feed and recorded footage within the range of this network. So, if you're not in your car or not within the range of the camera's WiFi signal, you wouldn't be able to access the video feed in real-time.

Why the App does not work when the car is in parking mode?

The purpose of the parking mode is to ensure that activities are recorded with very low power consumption. When your vehicle is hardwired and the parking mode is enabled, only the recording function operates based on your settings. Other features will not be activated in this mode.

I can not open website or listen to music on my phone when it's connected to the dash cam

For Android phones, once connected to the dash camera's WiFi, it cannot support another internet connection, such as WiFi or mobile data or listen to some online music. However, the dash cam will continue recording even when connected to the phone. Therefore, you can only connect to the app when you wish to view or download the videos.

Is it a must to keep the dash cam connected to my phone/App?

The purpose of the app is to facilitate easier management of settings, as well as viewing and downloading videos. It's important to note that once the dash cam is powered on, it will continue recording even when connected to the phone. Therefore, you may connect to the app when you wish to view or download the videos.

Can I find videos I deleted in the App?

Currently, the app does not support the feature of restoring deleted videos.

Can I get the dash cam to connect to the WiFi in my house?

Dash cams typically don't connect directly to home WiFi networks. Instead, they generate their own WiFi signal that is compatible only with the corresponding app.

GPS FAQ

Where should I install the GPS part?

You can install the GPS module in the area above the rearview mirror, near the large plastic housing at the top of the windshield, or on the quarter-light window of the front doors, positioned at the bottom and as close to the front of the car as possible. However, it's essential to note that placing it too close to the dash cam may result in signal interference.
